Teach & Beach Literacy & Art Education Project 2010 explored the indigenous art in countries on each continent.

Students read books about Australia and made aboriginal prints on weathered paper. We read books about Mali’s great leaders and made cave paintings. We traveled to China and made collages using calligraphy and handmade paper.  We also read books about the art of quilt making throughout Europe and South America, then students hand designed quilt squares and made a commemorative quilt.

The students enjoyed learning about cultural traditions and their interpretations of art represented from each region.
