The mission of Ujima Natural Farmers Market is to provide a venue where farmers (St. Thomas, Kingston & St. Andrew and Portland), producers, crafters and artisans come together to provide a variety of fresh naturally grown (pesticide free) produce and related products directly to the consumer. The market encourages direct communication between consumers and growers, fosters social gathering and community building, and promotes nutritious food choices.

 

Who can sell at our The Ujima Natural Farmers Market (UNFM)?

The Ujima Natural Farmers Market is primarily designed to admit only Farmers who have graduated from the Natural Farmers Certification Course. Our Farmers Market does allow crafters and artisans who are using 70% to 80% natural ingredients in their products. No GMO or processed and pre-packaged items is allowed.

Items allowed at the Market- fruits, vegetables, nuts, meats, poultry, eggs, dairy, honey, nursery stock, cut flowers and processed farm items such as jams, preserves, beverages.

The market will allow few spaces for small food business such as bread makers and other specialty foods and few spaces for ready to eat foods. We do not have spaces for all types of Foods or businesses.

No space is given to wholesalers or resellers nor vendors of imported arts and crafts or other non food/farm business. The primary purpose of these markets is to enable local farmers to sell directly to the public that which they produce on their own farms.

The located of the market is at 22 Barbican Road, Kingston, JA (beside Orchid Village Plaza)

Market Operations
The Market happens every Saturday of each month. The Market starts 10am and ends at 3pm.
